July can be a fun and challenging month on the water. Days with fog and strong wind and others with warm sunshine! (Or sometimes both) Let’s see which we get and explore what the bay has to offer!!

Are you ready for Summer? On the Bay it’s a mix of beautifully warm calm days and foggy, windy, and chilly challenges. Which one will it be? We’ll see, but both have plenty of fun and excitement on the water! Are you in?

Sail GP
That’s us last year!
Sail GP is the Formula 1 equivalent for professional sailing. San Francisco is the site of the last event of the season that decides the winners for the 2022 season.
We are planning to anchor in Aquatic Cove (near Ghirardelli Square) for the weekend and shuttle to/from the shore with the dingy.
If the weather is good we will spend the mornings sailing around the bay before the races
For the races we will drift at the edge of the race course and watch as the teams from around the world battle for the top spot while enjoying an on deck picnic/BBQ. (If the sea cooperates)
No cost! (beyond bringing something for potluck) and no experience needed.

Spring Sail - 2023
Spring is in the air! We’ll be looking to catch some plentiful spring breezes and get back in sailing shape for the summer. Should be good practice for the summer.

Sail Trim - Theory and Practice
Sailing basics and some practicing with a lot of cruising the bay mixed in. Medium winds in the morning good for honing skills and winds should be plenty strong in the afternoon.

(Date Tentative)
Moving the boat from Richmond back to Brisbane.
Good news: We will start closer to Angel Island and Golden Gate so more time to sail “the slot”
Downside: This trip is One-Way so will need either carpool or ride share afterwards.
